On March 9, 2026, Heilongjiang Theological Seminary held the opening service for the 2025-2026 spring semester at the Mount Olive Ark Chapel, attended by all faculty members and students.

The service began with the songs of praise, and all faculty members and students gathered together in worship. Rev. Liu Xiaolu, Academic Dean of the seminary, officiated the service and led the congregation in earnest prayer. The congregation responded with “Amen”, receiving peace and strength from God. The Seminary choir performed the hymn “I Surrender All”, whose sincere singing touched the congregation.

Drawing on Genesis 4:1-7, Rev. Gao Longde, Director of the Office for the Teaching and Research of the Old Testament, delivered a sermon titled “Attitude Determines Direction”. Referring to the offerings of Cain and Abel, Rev. Gao delved into how one’s attitude shapes the course of life and one’s spiritual journey. Rev. Gao encouraged all faculty members and students to examine themselves in the new semester, cultivate humility and obedience, have the right attitude toward their studies, life, and ministry, and discern the way forward under God’s guidance.
