In mid-July 2026, in response to the increased risk of flooding and landslides caused by persistent heavy rainfall, members of the leadership of Jincheng CC&TSPM conducted safety inspections in several teams at places of worship across the City of Jincheng, Shanxi Province.

Since early July, meteorological authorities have repeatedly warned extreme rainfall. The risk of flooding and landslides has increased in the mountainous areas of Jincheng.

Inspection teams visited churches including Gospel Church in Jiazhai, Yangcheng County, Gan’en Church, Lingguang Church, and Chengqu Church, conducting comprehensive inspections of fire safety, structural safety, electrical safety, and flood-control facilities.

Following the inspections, the teams issued rectification notices to the persons in charge of each church, specifying deadlines for addressing the identified safety concerns.

Inspection teams also urged church leaders to attach great importance to safety, strengthen their sense of responsibility, fully implement preventive measures, and ensure proper duty arrangements and emergency response procedures.
