On September 7, 2026, faculty members and students of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary gathered to begin the 2026 autumn semester.
The opening worship service took place in the seminary’s auditorium, with Vice President Li Jiangyue officiating. Li offered prayers for national prosperity, world peace, the faculty members and students in the new semester, and the seminary’s ministries.
Faculty member Xu Xiaohong conducted the choir in singing “The Lord’s My Shepherd” and “Never Cease Praising the Grace of Lord”.
Vice President Rev. Wen Ge delivered a sermon titled “Clothed with Christ”. He encouraged the congregation to grow in both character and conduct, embrace simplicity and reject extravagance, remain sound in faith and upright in conduct, and set an example for believers as they faithfully fulfill God’s calling and contribute to the healthy development of the Church in China.
After the sermon, Rev. Wu Wei, President of CCC and President of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, gave a speech. Rev. Wu encouraged all faculty members and students to remain steadfast in their faith, maintain grateful hearts, pursue academic competence, cultivate godly character, so that they may become compassionate and dedicated servants who will faithfully serve the Church in China and contribute to society in the new era.
The opening worship service and ceremony concluded with a benediction offered by Rev. Wu Wei.
