On August 17, 2026, all faculty members and students of Heilongjiang Theological Seminary gathered at Mount Olive Chapel for the opening ceremony of the new semester. 

Also in attendance were Rev. Lv Dezhi, President of the seminary, Rev. Li Meilan, Executive Vice President of the seminary, and leaders of Harbin CC&TSPM.

Rev. Shao Shan, Secretary of the President’s Executive Office, presided over the opening service. All faculty members and students sang “To God Be the Glory”. The seminary’s choir performed the hymn “My Utmost for His Highest”. 

Drawing on John 17:17-19, Rev. Wang Yanli, Director of the Sacred Music Teaching and Research Office, preached a sermon titled “Sanctified by Truth”. She encouraged all to delve deeper into biblical truth, continue growing spiritually, walk in the light of truth, put their faith into practice, and bear witness to the Lord’s grace throughout the new semester.

Rev. Han Qiujie, Chaplain of the seminary, led a prayer. A promotional video showcasing the seminary’s development and achievements was played. Representatives of current students and freshmen gave speeches.

At last, Rev. Li Meilan pronounced a benediction over all faculty members and students. The ceremony concluded with the congregation singing the closing “Amen”.
