From April 2 to 16, 2019, Henan Zhumadian CC&TSPM organized the 2019 provincial training sessions on Regulations on Religious Affairs, relevant laws and regulations and theological education in Guantian Church, Chengyi District. Over 300 newly-ordained preachers from all counties and districts of Zhumadian City attended the training.

During the training sessions, Rev. Sun Hongshe, dean of Henan Theological Seminary gave a lecture titled “How to Discern Heresies”. Combining in-depth theories and vivid testimony with theoretical studies and teaching experience, Rev. Sun illustrated how to uphold the teachings of the Bible, discern and resist heresies, and promote harmonious and stabile development of Christianity in the new era and new environment.

Rev. Jin Xinyuan, associate dean of Henan Theological Seminary delivered a speech on “Pragmatic Hermeneutics”. Rev. Jin showed students a vivid picture of how to interpret the Bible properly, and how to incorporate the daily life with hermeneutics and sermon through analyzing specific verses.

Students considered the two-week long training very fruitful and saw it as the beginning of a new journey to respond to the call of the Lord, increase their awareness as a servant and consciousness of overall situation, and raise their enthusiasm to serve the society and shepherd the sheep.
