On July 16, 2026, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary held a graduation thanksgiving service and commencement ceremony at the Union Church. Attendees included officials from Guangdong Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, leaders of Guangdong CC&TSPM, pastors from churches across the province, faculty members and students of the seminary, and families and friends of the graduates.
A total of 94 students graduated, with 15 students from the undergraduate program in theology, nine from the diploma program in theology, and 70 from the extension program.
The graduation thanksgiving service began at 9 a.m., officiated by Rev. Pei Lianshan, Director of the Academic Division of the seminary. Drawing on John 11:37, Zhang Ge, a faculty member of the seminary, preached a sermon, encouraging the graduates to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in the power of the Lord.
Rev. Cai Jianwei, Vice President and Dean of the Academic Affairs of the seminary, presided over the commencement ceremony. Rev. Cai Bosheng, President of the seminary, and Rev. Guo Yun, Chairperson of Guangdong TSPM, each delivered remarks, offering words of encouragement to graduates.
Afterward, Rev. Cai Jianwei announced the list of graduates as well as the recipients of the Outstanding Student Award and the Shepherd’s Heart Award. Rev. Cai Bosheng awarded graduation certificates to the graduates and led the liturgy of commissioning. The graduates presented a commemorative gift to the seminary.
