Zhejiang Theological Seminary organized a series of activities for the beginning of the 2026 academic year, consisting of a parents’ meeting for incoming undergraduate students, an opening service and ceremony, and national defense education and military training.
On the evening of September 8, the seminary held a parents’ meeting for the Class of 2026 incoming undergraduate students. Rev. Zeng Yue moderated the meeting. Rev. Huang Yousai delivered a sermon titled “Responding to the Lord’s Call as Disciples”.
Pastors and parents shared the students’ journeys of faith, recalling their service in the church and their commitment to serving God. Together, they bore witness to the students’ response to God’s call and their growth as followers of Christ.
From September 9 to 12, the seminary conducted a four-day military training program. The training featured a wide range of content, covering drill training, military boxing, dagger drills, team building, target shooting practice, and dormitory management.
On the morning of September 14, the opening service and ceremony for Zhejiang Theological Seminary’s 2026 autumn semester was held at the seminary’s auditorium. Rev. Zheng Rongda, Assistant to the President and Director of Student Affairs at the seminary, officiated at the opening service. Vice President Rev. Chen Xiaolang offered a prayer.
Drawing on Luke 2:40-52, Rev. Tang Shiwen, Director of the Research and Compilation Office, delivered a sermon titled “Growing Together in Balance”. Rev. Tang explained the key elements of spiritual growth from four perspectives: wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with people.
During the opening ceremony, President Rev. Pan Xingwang encouraged students to apply their faith in addressing challenges, improve critical thinking skills, and develop the ability to articulate the message of the new era.
