On November 10, 2019, led by President Rev. Xie Bingguo, over fifty students and faculty of sacred music from East China Theological Seminary had an exchange on church ministries and sacred music in Wuxi. Rev. Yan Zheng, chairman of Wuxi TSPM and director of Zhongshan Road Church as well as staff members warmly received the guests.
Students majoring in sacred music from East China Theological Seminary went to Zhongshan Road Church in Wuxi, and sang Sing A New Song to Jehovah, and Halleluiah. Green Grass Choir of Zhongshan Road Church sang Listen Carefully, and Hosanna Choir sang Halleluiah.
Rev. Xie Bingguo was invited to give a sermon in the service. With the title of “Three Questions God Asks Mankind”, he shared the message concerning the relations between Christians and God, Christians and people, and Christians and their families.
After the service, about 150 people including students and faculty of East China Theological Seminary, clergies and staff members of Zhongshan Road Church, Green Grass Choir and Hosanna Choir attended a meeting.
Rev. Yan Zheng introduced the history of Wuxi Churches as well as the pastoral ministries in Zhongshan Road Church.
Rev. Xie Bingguo presented the enrollment and theological education in East China Theological Seminary.
The two sides had an in-depth exchange on cultivating talents for sacred music, along with how to cope with current challenges facing churches. They learn from each other and deepen mutual friendship via this productive exchange.
