On February 17, 2025, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary held the opening ceremony of its second semester for the 2024-2025 academic year. Rev. Cai Jianwei, vice president and academic dean of the seminary, and vice chairperson of Guangdong TSPM, presided over the ceremony. Teacher Zhang Jiu, the director of Student Affairs, led the prayer, followed by a Scripture reading from Jude 1:20-21 by teacher Zou Qinquan. Rev. Qiu Dan then gave words of exhortation.

Under the title of “Keep Yourself in God’s Love”, the message given by Rev. Qiu encouraged students to build themselves up in the most holy faith and keep themselves in God’s love. She stressed the importance of relying on the mercy from the Lord Jesus Christ and praying in the Holy Spirit, rather than merely on personal perseverance. She also gave special emphasis on being steadfast in faith in the contemporary era, exhorting the students to equip themselves with Biblical knowledge, church history and systematic theology, to establish strong foundation of faith.

The opening ceremony concluded with a benediction given by Rev. Cai Jianwei. All students and faculty members were inspired and full of confidence to start a new semester.
