Seminaries Welcome Graduation Season

On June 12, 2023, Zhongnan Theological Seminary held the “Walking with the Love of Christ, and Braving the Wind and the Waves” Liturgy of Commissioning and a graduation gala for the graduates of 2023. The event was attended by all faculty members and students.



After the commissioning liturgy, students contributed to a splendid evening gala that featured dancing, violin playing, Erhu performing, etc. The finaleFarewellbrought the evening gala to a climax.

On June 14, Zhongnan Theological Seminary held the 2023 graduation ceremony, with all teachers and students attending.



Rev. Zhao Qiufen announced the name list of all 28 graduates. Rev. Zhu Zhiguo, Chairperson of Hubei TSPM, conferred certificates upon all the graduates. The graduates of 2023 sang My Utmost for You, and other students sang Glory to God together.

On the evening of June 18, Fujian Theological Seminary held a thanksgiving prayer meeting for the graduates of 2023 at Fushen Church.



There were a variety of shows and performances, including singing, cup dance, original composition with both Chinese and western features, skit, musical, talk show, etc. At last, the choir of the seminary sangOur Life as Offering.

On June 20 at 9:00 a.m., Nanjing Union Theological Seminary’s worship service and graduation ceremony for the Class of 2023 took place in the seminary’s auditorium.



Attendees included Rev. Wu Wei, President of CCC, Rev. Shan Weixiang, Vice President and General Secretary of CCC, Rev. Gao Feng, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and President of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, representatives from the Jiangsu CC&TSPM and other organizations, as well as Rev. Philip L. Wickeri, who is the theological and historical research consultant of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui and a good friend of Bishop K. H. Ting, and Janice K. Wickeri.



Executive Vice President Rev. Chen Yilu announced the list of the graduates of 2023. Of all 166 graduates, 128 students received bachelor’s degrees (106 of them in theology), and 38 students received master’s degrees (36 in theology). The number of graduates reached a record high this year.

On June 20, the second-year students of Hunan Bible School gave vocal music performances as their end-of-course assessment. They presented vocal conducting, group performance of “beat, read, hum, recite and sing”, fun musical scale performance of “Do Re Mi” as well as other sacred music shows.



On June 20, Shandong Theological Seminary held the commencement for the Class of 2023. Rev. Dong Meiqin, Rev. Gao Ming, Rev. Zhang Jianshun, and Rev. Li Hongyu conferred graduation certificates upon all 92 graduates.



On the morning of June 21, Fujian Theological Seminary held the 2023 graduation ceremony at Fushen Church. There were 152 graduates completing their studies and shouldering duties to go to the threshing floor.



On June 21, East China Theological Seminary held the undergraduate graduation ceremony in the auditorium. Rev. Wu Wei, President of CCC, and Rev. Xu Yulan, Chairperson of Shanghai TSPM and Chairperson of the Board of the seminary, attended the ceremony. Academic Dean Rev. Wang Jianhua read out the list of the Class of 2023. There were 26 graduates in theology and 38 in sacred music. President of the seminary Rev. Xie Bingguo gave the graduation certificates to the graduates.



On the morning of June 26, Henan Theological Seminary held the graduation service and ceremony of the 2023 Class of in the auditorium. President of the seminary Rev. Tang Weimin, conferred graduation certificates to each of the 70 graduates.



Attendees of the graduation ceremony were representatives from the Sanmenxia CC&TSPM and Anyang CC&TSPM as well as other places, who made donations in support of theological education in Henan.

On the morning of June 28, Zhejiang Theological Seminary held a graduation service and ceremony for the 2023 graduates in the seminary’s auditorium. A total of 46 students were approved for graduation, which included 28 undergraduates in theology and 18 junior college students in Bible.



On the morning of June 29, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary conducted the 2023 commencement ceremony at the Xiehe Church of the seminary.



There were 84 graduates with undergraduate degree in theology, associate degree in theology, and undergraduate degree in pastoral ministry and from theology extension class.

On the morning of June 29, Sichuan Theological Seminary held the 2023 graduation ceremony (the 20th cohort of undergraduate program) in the seminary’s auditorium.



On June 30, Northeast Theological Seminary held the thanksgiving graduation service and ceremony at Liaoning CC&TSPM’a affiliated Rock Church. There were 116 graduates with undergraduate degrees and secondary education degrees who will gratefully go to the threshing floor. Nearly a thousand people attended, including teachers, family members of the students, clergy, etc.



On July 1, Inner Mongolia Bible School held the 2023 graduation ceremony. By far, up to 33 cohorts of 1,395 students have graduated from the Bible school. This year there were 22 graduates in the Bible school. Rev. Xie Baohua, President and Chairperson of Inner Mongolia CC&TSPM, and President of Inner Mongolia Bible School, conferred graduation certificates upon the graduates.



On July 6, Heilongjiang Theological Seminary held the 2023 graduation service and commencement ceremony at the Olive Church. All 60 graduates who have successfully completed their studies embark on the new journey in their lives.



On the morning of June 20, Anhui Theological Seminary held the commencement ceremony for the college class of 2023 and the 28th term preacher training class. Approximately 500 people attended the ceremony, including church members from cities in Anhui Province, and students and faculty members of Anhui Theological Seminary.


A total of 23 collage class students were awarded graduation certificates and up to 79 students of preacher training class received certificates.
