Delegation from WEA visits CCC&TSPM

On the morning of July 24, 2024, a nine-person delegation from the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) visited CCC&TSPM. Rev. Dr. Lin Manhong, Vice President and General Secretary of CCC, Rev. Geng Weizhong, Residential Vice President of CCC, and Mr. Gu Mengfei, Secretary General of National TSPM, along with other colleagues, received the guests.



As the moderator of the meeting, Rev. Dr. Lin Manhong welcomed the delegation on behalf of CCC&TSPM, and reviewed past exchanges between the two sides. She then briefed on the two ongoing crucial ministries of the Church in China: the Chinanization of Christianity and church governance in accordance with the law.

Rev. Geng Weizhong introduced the delegation to the publication ministry of CCC&TSPM, including the latest developments in Bibles, Hymns, church books, the magazine Tianfeng, etc. Mr. Gu Mengfei also presented the work of CCC&TSPM.



Representing the delegation, Frank Hinkelman, Vice Chair of WEA International Council, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of this visit in deepening their understanding of the Church in China. Rev. Godfrey Yogarajah, Chairperson of the Asia Evangelical Alliance and member of WEA International Council, gave an overview of the organizational structure and ministries of WEA. This international fellowship of organizations represents 650 million Christians globally, with 143 national alliances and 9 regional alliances. Its major ministries involve mission, evangelism, social concern, spiritual development, unity, etc.



During the meeting, the two sides discussed on the declining number of global Christians, imbalanced development of world Christianity, etc. Afterwards, the guests visited the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the Grace Telling Bookshop.
