On the morning of May 19, 2026, a four-member delegation from the United Bible Societies (UBS), led by the UBS Secretary General Rev. Dirk Gevers, visited CCC&TSPM. The delegation was received by Rev. Xu Xiaohong, Chairperson of National TSPM, Rev. Geng Weizhong, Residential Vice President of CCC, along with other CCC&TSPM staff.

Rev. Xu Xiaohong warmly welcomed the delegation and reviewed the friendly interaction and cooperation between the Church in China and UBS over the past decades. Rev. Xu also expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from UBS to the Church in China.

As this year marked the 80th anniversary of UBS, Rev. Xu Xiaohong spoke highly of the organization’s achievements since its founding. Rev. Xu hailed the cooperation between both sides as an exemplary model, emphasizing that UBS has witnessed the development of the Church in China since the reform and opening up. Rev. Xu expected that the fellowship in the Lord would be passed down from generation to generation.

Rev. Geng Weizhong introduced the Bible ministries in China to the delegation, particularly the preparation work for a new Chinese Bible translation. Rev. Geng hoped that through the partnership with the UBS, the stories of the Church in China could reach a wider global audience.

Rev. Dirk Gevers stated that UBS highly valued its friendship with the Church in China and looked forward to better serving the Church in China in the future. Dr. Bernard Low, Director of UBS China Partnership, added that UBS will, as always, respect the Three-Self Principles upheld by the Church in China, and carry out activities on the basis of abiding by Chinese laws and regulations.

Both sides expressed a shared commitment to strengthening mutual visits in the future and further promoting cooperation in Bible ministries.
