On September 7, 2026, a delegation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany visited East China Theological Seminary. Rev. Xie Bingguo, President of the seminary, warmly welcomed the delegation. Several faculty members participated in the meeting.

The two sides first introduced their respective organizations. Faculty members introduced their responsibilities, the courses they teach, and their areas of work. Rev. Xie presented the seminarys educational programs and ministerial training, and discussed such topics as student enrollment, curriculum, and student life with the delegation.

Drawing on the experience of the Church in China and theological education, Rev. Xie explained that current efforts to advance the Chinanization of Christianity emphasize stronger political identification, deeper cultural integration, and greater social adaptation. He also shared the seminarys recent exploration and practice in promoting the Chinanization of Christianity through theological education, sacred music education, and ministerial formation.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Exhibition on the Chinanization of Christianity and the seminarys library. The visit gave the delegation a deeper understanding of the Church in Chinas efforts to advance the Chinanization of Christianity, as well as the seminarys teaching, research, and library resources.

The two sides also exchanged views on the exhibition and the librarys collections. The delegation expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with East China Theological Seminary in theological education and academic research.
