From September 15 to 18, 2026, CCC&TSPM’s Rural and Ethnic Ministry Committee held a compilation meeting for A Guide to Guarding Against Heresy and Cults in Xining, Qinghai. The meeting was attended by Rev. Tang Weimin, Vice Chairperson of National TSPM and Director of Rural and Ethnic Ministry Committee, Gu Mengfei, Secretary General of National TSPM, and Rev. Deng Jianxian, Deputy Director of Rural and Ethnic Ministry Committee.

Rev. Tang Weimin presented an overview of the first draft of A Guide to Guarding Against Heresy and Cults. Rev. Tang noted that the guide is intended for grassroots churches and aims to address challenges faced by local pastors, church workers, and believers in identifying, discerning, and guarding against heresy and cults.

Gu Mengfei pointed out that compiling the guide is a key initiative of CCC&TSPM to strengthen the ministry in rural and ethnic areas, advance standardized church governance, and promote the healthy continuation of the church. Gu emphasized that the guide should ensure precision in conceptual definitions, terminology, and doctrinal expressions, while remaining accessible and easy to read.

The meeting reached a consensus on the overall approach to the compilation and identified priorities for the next stage of revisions, laying a solid foundation for the guide’s finalization, publication, and wider use.

On the afternoon of September 17, participants visited Qinghai CC&TSPM and Jiaochang Street Church for a field study to learn about local efforts to guard against heresy and cults at the grassroots level.
