From November 21 to 26, 2024, the Executive Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC) convened in Paralimni, Cyprus. Rev. Dr. Lin Manhong, Vice President and General Secretary of CCC, attended the meeting as a member of the executive committee.
The meeting was hosted by the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Ammochostos of the Church of Cyprus. Each day began with morning prayers held by different Orthodox churches. During the sessions, executive committee members reviewed the WCC’s work in the second half of 2024 and approved the work plan for 2025. Attendees also learned about the challenges facing the churches of Cyprus, including the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church, and the Protestant Church.
Rev. Dr. Lin Manhong spoke at the meeting on behalf of the Church in China, confirming the next executive meeting to be held in Hangzhou, China in November 2025, as well as the participation of the Church in China in the related WCC programs next year. This facilitated enhanced exchanges between the Church in China and WCC member churches, deepening the relationship with WCC.
