Rev. Xu Xiaohong Receives American Christian Organizations

At 8:30 a.m. of November, 18, 2019, Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of National TSPM received a seven-person delegation at CCC&TSPM headquarters. The delegates were members of the Bible Study Fellowship, Dallas Theological Seminary, as well as an institution for evangelical ministries called “Insight for Living Ministries”.

 

Rev. Xu Xiaohong extended heartfelt welcome towards the visit. He introduced the main foci of recent work for CCC&TSPM, such as the indigenization and contextualization of Christianity in China, the reconstruction of theological thinking, the construction of church rules and regulations, social services, etc.

 

He said that the indigenization and contextualization of Christianity in China is to satisfy the needs of the Church in China; the fourth plenary session of the 19th CCCPC also had a discussion on constructing regulations, which is also an important step for church construction; the Church in China plays an active role in poverty aids and assistance.

Meanwhile, the Church in China is also afflicted by overseas affiliations and challenged by the unregistered meeting points as well as talent cultivation, etc.

 

Rev. Xu also condemned the violence happening in Hong Kong along with the negative impacts from some churches in Hong Kong.

                                                                                           

Ms. Susie Rowan, executive director of Bible Study Fellowship referred to the development and technological renovation in this era, and introduced their online media ministries. She also said that she was very much delighted to see the growth of the talented younger generation in the church.

Dr. Charles W. Dickens, department chair and professor of Bible Counseling for Dallas Theological Seminary extended the greeting from the president of the seminary. He said that many aspects of the contemporary society are in need of prayers like marriage, family, children education, etc. A good testimony in the society is required to live up to the Word of God and manifest the almighty power of God in the Chinese context.

 

Tom Hayes, executive vice president and chief international officer of Insight for Living Ministries introduced the basic situation of its gospel media, including publications, broadcasting and many other forms to spread the Word of God.

 

The two sides wished to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in deepening mutual understanding and friendship.
