East China Theological Seminary Holds Admission Exams

On May 13 and 14, 2021, East China Theological Seminary had its annual admission examination for undergraduate students. The admission exam consisted of written tests and an online interview. Written tests were held in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangxi, etc. And test subjects contained the basics of Christianity, Chinese, English, History, etc.

On May 17, Rev. Xie Bingguo, president of the seminary, hosted the online interview in East China Theological Seminary. Evaluation criteria revolved around the candidate’s faith, mental health, family and social relationships, etc.

 

On May 20 and 21, the seminary held the biannual admission exam for the sacred music program. Up to nearly 70 candidates nationwide from 18 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions attended the admission exam (including the written test and the interview). On the first day, test subjects included personal faith, vocal test, sight singing, piano as well as other musical instruments.

Over ten professors and experts from advanced colleges or universities in Shanghai interviewed these students. Rev. Xie Bingguo and several full-time teachers of the seminary conducted the interviews focusing on the candidates’ faith. The written test was on the following day, with aspects of assessment ranging from the basics of Christianity, Chinese, to aural skills and music theory.
