In the beginning of the New Year, the work meeting of committee of theological education of CCC & TSPM was held in Shanghai on 18 January 2018. 8 members of the committee attended the meeting. Rev. Kan Baoping, Vice President & General Secretary of China Christian Council, also attended the meeting.
The meeting was hosted by Rev. Chen Yilu, director of committee of theological education. Rev. Xu Yulan, standing vice principal of East China Theological Seminary, led the prayer. Rev. Chen Yilu first recalled the work the committee of theological education did in 2017, and analyzed the student recruitment in all the seminaries across China. He combined the spirit of 19th CPC conference, the newly-amended “Regulations on Religious Affairs”, the meeting spirit of national religious work on institutions and “Zhong Guo Hua” (Christianity in China conforms with Chinese culture and tradition) when he mentioned the work plan in 2018. He also requested the committee members to make practical and feasible plans according to the real needs from their own theological seminaries. After the warm discussion, the committee of theological education would push forward the curriculum design for seminaries, the professional title evaluation work, and “Zhong Guo Hua”.
Finally, Rev. Kan Baoping made the speech. He pointed out the importance of theological education work and many problems faced by theological seminaries. The work goal made in this meeting had a strong feasibility. He hoped the committee of theological education could play a bigger role in the New Year. The meeting was successfully finished by the prayer from Rev. Wu Wei, deputy director of committee of theological education. The committee of theological education would implement the work plan carefully in the New Year, take the responsibility and make efforts for the healthy development of theological education.
