CCC&TSPM Representatives Attending 2018 FTESEA Board Meeting

2018 FTESEA Board Meeting was held in Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in the U.S from 12th to 13th October. Representatives from many Christian communities and Theological Seminary councils in both South-East Asia and North America came to attend the meeting. Rev. Chen Yilu, Vice President of China Christian Council, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, together with Mr. Zhou Xuebin, teacher of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary represented the church in China to attend the meeting.

During the two-day meeting, experts in theological education from South-east Asia delivered marvelous speeches on the development of FTESEA and regional theological education. They looked back the contributions been made to the theological education in China and regions in South-East Asia since FTESEA was founded, and looked forward to various ways that the Foundation could get involved into the area of theological education. Attendees reached a consensus that to further update the contextualization of theological education is demanded by the ever-changing society and the church.


In the meeting, Rev. Chen Yilu representing CCC&TSPM shared the current positive development of theological education in China with all attendees, also introduced the status quo of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary. Rev. Chen expressed gratitude toward the support from FTESEA to the theological education in China. He also expected a profound collaboration with the Foundation in terms of the training of faculties and so forth. Besides, he stressed that the theological seminaries in China would persist in the way of development in the Chinese context.
