On the afternoon of April 4, 2023, Rev. Shen Xuebin, Residential Vice President of CCC, received Dr. Gene Wood, President of Word4Asia Consulting International, and Executive Director Mrs. Liping Martinez, who were the first American guests in the last three years.

Dr. Gene Wood always has a respect for the Three-self Principles. He has visited China many times as a good friend and supporter of the Church in China. This is his first visit to the Church in China since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming at continuing and deepening mutual friendship between the two sides. At the meeting, they exchanged information about each other in recent years, and discussed on mutual visits, cooperation, and other topics.

Rev. Shen Xuebin extended warm welcome toward the visitors. He introduced the recent development of Chinese churches. Rev. Shen appreciated the uniqueness of Word4Asia Consulting International and expected it to continue to spread a positive image for the Church in China among American churches.

At the meeting, Rev. Shen also responded to a few questions raised by the guests with regard to Bible publication and distribution, and the connotation of the Indigenization and Contextualization of Christianity in China.

Dr. Gene Wood said that he felt honored to visit CCC&TSPM. He introduced the focus of his organization, including to help non-profit organizations in the West to learn about the regulations and rules of the Chinese mainland, and provide leadership training, communication skills training and other consulting services. He mentioned that the Bible unites us. Word4Asia Consulting International will support the Three-self Principles as always, and encourage its clients to strictly follow the law and regulations in China. Dr. Wood also looked forward to a further exchange and cooperation between the two sides.

Ms. Gu Jingqin, interim chief of CCC&TSPM’s Overseas Relations Department, participated in this reception.
