On the morning of March 20, 2024, Mrs. Gunya Na Thlang, the Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)’s regional director for Asia, and Rev. Zhu Jingcai, the consultant of China Partnership, visited CCC&TSPM. Attendees of the meeting included Rev. Xu Xiaohong, Chairperson of National TSPM, Rev. Shan Weixiang, Residential Vice President of National TSPM, and Rev. Geng Weizhong, Residential Vice President of CCC.

Rev. Xu Xiaohong welcomed the old friends and stressed the profound friendship established by the predecessors of the two sides. Over the years, we have interceded and remembered each other quite often.

Rev. Xu shared with the guests the situation of the 11th National Christian Conference in China and the ongoing Chinanization of Christianity, and shared how the excellent traditional Chinese culture is reflected in the publishing and media ministry. He also mentioned the measures taken to fully implement the church governance in accordance with the laws and regulations, and to improve the comprehensive quality of church personnel.

Rev. Xu said that the two sides have been working together in a friendly and candid manner for years. He looked forward to LHMs active engagement in the China-US Protestant Church Leaders Forum to be held in the US this year. Rev. Xu hoped that through concerted efforts, the China-US interactions would be enhanced, mutual understanding would be strengthened, and a beautiful friendship would be built, contributing to a peaceful world to live.

Rev. Shan Weixiang expressed gratitude to LHMs support for Aiji Printing Press and introduced its current situation.

Mrs. Gunya Na Thlang conveyed greetings from the CEO of LHM and introduced their ministries and recent situation. She said that although this might be her last official visit after serving LHM for 33 years and that it was time for her to retire, she would continue to work to deepen the friendship between the two sides, and pray gratefully for the Church in China. Rev. Zhu Jingcai remembered Rev. Stephen Tsui, an old friend of the Church in China, who passed away last April.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the friendship and cooperation between LHM and CCC&TSPM. Both sides talked about the Lords grace, looked forward to a bright future and a sustainable friendship.

Finally, the two sides exchanged gifts and took a group photo. Rev. Geng Weizhong accompanied the guests to visit the Grace Telling Bookshop.
