On the evening of December 24, 2025, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary held the “Christ’s Birth Brings Hope” Christmas Eve worship service.

Rev. Cai Jianwei, Vice President of the Seminary, delivered a sermon titled “The True Light Shines in the Darkness”, expounding the biblical truth that Christ is the light who illuminates the world. Rev. Cai also thoughtfully drew on traditional Chinese cultural aspirations for light and hope, linking the Gospel message with the Chinese nation’s positive and forward-looking spirit, and its pursuit of brightness.

The Christmas Eve service followed the traditional structure of “Gathering”, “Liturgy of the Word”, and “Commissioning and Benediction”, while incoporating Chinese elements in its liturgical design. At the openning of the service, the prelude featured performances with traditional Chinese instrumental music, creating a distinctive cultural atmosphere.
