Since August 22, 2026, persistent heavy rainfall has battered Chongzuo, Guangxi Province, triggering widespread flooding.

Rising river levels, landslides, and severe flooding in both urban and rural areas have affected numerous villages. Many residents have been stranded, facing shortages of essential supplies, while their lives and property were at risk. Urgent disaster relief has been needed.

Upon learning of the disaster, Shanghai Agape Foundation responded promptly by working with the Amity Foundation to support frontline relief efforts. The foundation quickly launched emergency relief operations, focusing on the areas hardest hit by the floods, including Zhulian Village and Xiazhou Village in Chengzhong Town, Ningming County, Chongzuo City.

To help meet the basic needs of affected residents, relief workers prepared emergency supplies, including bottled water, instant noodles, bread, and sausages, and quickly sorted and loaded them for delivery.

Delivering the relief supplies proved highly challenging. Upon arriving in the disaster-stricken areas, rescue teams found that vehicles could not enter the villages because of floodwaters and landslides. Some villages remained surrounded by floodwaters, leaving residents in urgent need of assistance.

Undeterred by the difficult conditions, rescue workers switched to rescue boats, navigated through the floodwaters, and delivered relief supplies door to door, bringing timely assistance to affected families.

The floodwaters in Chongzuo have now gradually receded. Recovery efforts are underway, with cleanup and post-disaster restoration progressing in an orderly manner, while local residents’ lives are gradually returning to normal.
