On the morning of March 2, 2026, Nanjing Union Theological Seminary held the new semester opening service. All students and faculty members gathered for this solemn ceremony to begin the new semester.

The opening service for the 2025-2026 spring semester took place in the seminary’s auditorium. Li Jiangyue, Vice President of the seminary, officiated the service. Li prayed for world peace, the prosperity of the nation, the faithful continuation of the Church in China, as well as for the seminary’s ministries and the work, study, and daily lives of all students and faculty members. 

The seminary choir performed the hymns “My Best Love Thou art” and “What a Wonderful Savior”. The solemn and uplifting hymns expressed the hope for the coming semester. Zhao Jingwen, Rev. Su Xile, and Rev. Tang Yongquan read passages of Scripture in turn.

Citing Exodus 15:22-27, Vice President Rev. Wen Ge delivered a sermon titled “Into the Land of Abundance”. Rev. Wen encouraged the congregation to remember their responsibilities and mission in the coming year of study and service, move forward in faith toward the abundant land God has prepared, learn God’s commandments and teachings, maintain sound faith and upright conduct, bear witness to their faith through good deeds, love the country and the church, and glorify God and benefit people.

The opening service concluded with a benediction by Rev. Wen Ge.
