On the afternoon of June 25, 2026, East China Theological Seminary held a graduation thanksgiving service and commencement ceremony at Mu’en Church, Shanghai. The attendees included leaders of CCC&TSPM, Shanghai CC&TSPM, together with leaders of the district-level CC&TSPMs in Shanghai, pastors, alumni, the seminary’s faculty members and students, and graduates’ families.
Rev. Xie Bingguo, President of the seminary, officiated at the thanksgiving service. Academic Dean Rev. Wang Jianhua preached a sermon titled “Thanksgiving as a Sacrifice”, encouraging the graduates to faithfully serve the Lord and bear witness to the Gospel through their lives. Afterward, Rev. Xie Bingguo offered a prayer of blessing for the graduates.
Rev. Xu Yulan, Chairperson of Shanghai TSPM and Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the seminary, and Mr. Gu Mengfei, Secretary General of National TSPM, each delivered remarks. They extended congratulations to the graduates and shared words of encouragement.
Rev. Hu Yingqiang, Deputy Academic Dean of the seminary, announced the names of the graduates. Fifteen graduates of the undergraduate program in theology took the stage in turn and received their diplomas from Rev. Xie Bingguo.
Rev. Yu Guangzhi, President of Shanghai CC, and Rev. Hu Qiuqiu, Vice Chairperson of Shanghai TSPM, presented a cross stole to each of the graduates. Rev. Wang Jianhua presented each graduate with a Bible, encouraging them to remember their mission and serve faithfully.
The representative of the graduates delivered a speech of gratitude and presented a gift to the seminary.
Rev. Xie Bingguo offered a commissioning prayer and a benediction for all the graduates and the congregation. The ceremony concluded with the closing hymn “Lord, We Praise You”.
