NJUTS’s 2019 Themed Calligraphy and Paining Awards Ceremony

On April 24, 2019, the Awards Ceremony of calligraphy and paining with a theme of crucifixion and resurrection “Live and Death” was held in the auditorium of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary (NJUTS).

Rev. Chen Yilu, executive vice president awarded the winning students, and invited Student Cao Yinan, the first prize winner of Paining, Handmade Crafts Group to share the inspiration of his piece of work “Life”.

 

The calligraphy and paining exhibition was hosted by the 39th Student Union, coordinated by the Calligraphy and Painting Club of the seminary, encouraging all students and faculty to submit outstanding artworks. Rev. Su Xile was especially invited as the judge.

 

There were Calligraphy Group and Painting, Handmade Crafts Group, with the first prize, second prize and third prize for each group.


This exhibition aimed at encouraging students to practice spiritual formation in arts through calligraphy, handmade craftworks as well as paintings.

 

By reflecting on the grace of the Lord in art creation, coming closer to the heart of the Lord and remembering Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, students learn to live and die with the Lord and embrace the revival of new life.
