UBS Delegation Visits CCC&TSPM

On the morning of September 2, 2019, a UBS (the United Bible Societies) delegation consisting of directors from the Bible Societies in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal visited CCC&TSPM.

Rev. Shen Xuebin, vice president of China Christian Council (CCC) and other staff members participated in the reception. The two sides had an exchange over several ministries including Bible publication, printing, etc.

 

Ms. Gu Jingqin, chief of Overseas Relations Department of CCC&TSPM, Mr. Wu Kui, assistant of general manager for Nanjing Amity Printing Co., Ltd. and others attended the symposium.

Rev. Shen Xuebin extended welcome towards the guests. He said that CCC&TSPM has not only established a deep and close relationship with the United Bible Societies, but also has been an old friend of the general secretaries of the Bible Societies in many countries and areas.

 

He hoped that there would be chances of making acquaintance with the friends from the Bible Societies in South East Asia through exchanges and cooperation.

 

Rev. Shen said that it was very welcomed for the delegation to visit Nanjing Amity Printing Co., Ltd. and learn about Bible printing craft.

 

He expressed the willingness to invite the delegates to attend the celebration activities to be held this November for celebrating the number of Bibles printed by Amity Printing Company reaching 200 million copies.

 

Afterwards, Ms. Chen Hongli, staff member from Media Ministry Department of CCC&TSPM presented the delegation the Bible publication and distribution among the church in China as well as some challenges in recent years.

Rev. Seree Lorgunpai, general secretary of Thailand Bible Society, Rev. Pisit Heng, executive director of the Bible Society in Cambodia, Mrs. Pairanya Sahassawas, executive director of Laos Partnership, Rev. Rev Khoi Lam Thang, general secretary of Bible Society of Myanmar, and Rev Tej Jirel, general secretary of Nepal Bible Society introduced the Bible translation, publication and distribution in their countries.

 

Guests appreciated and felt grateful to see the achievements made by the Church in China in terms of printing and publishing Bibles, and so forth.
