Visit by United Church of Canada

On 21 November 2017, a delegation of 8 people from UCC (United Church of Canada) came to visit CCC & TSPM. Rev. Lin Manhong, vice general secretary of China Christian Council welcomed the visit of guests. Coworkers from overseas relations department and social service department attended the meeting.

 

Among the guests of UCC, there were some old friends, and also some new friends who came to China for the first time. Their occupation went variously, such as English teacher, retired professor of ethics, conductor of classical music and the like.

 

Rev. Lin gave thanks to the visit by UCC, recalled the friendly mutual visits in the past, and introduced in details about the ministries in various department in CCC & TSPM, the development of Church in China and the opportunities and challenges Church in China now is facing with. The coworker from social service department introduced the social service work done by Church in China.

 

UCC emphasized the friendship with CCC & TSPM in their responses and appreciated the post-denominational characteristic of Church in China. They shared the social service work of UCC in the Canadian society and indicated that Canadian churches were devoted to seeking balance between the church construction itself and social service ministries.

 

Finally, gifts were sent between both sides and group photos were taken.
